2. Map Data & Data Sources

The relief maps shown on alpine-terrain.org are derived from open map and terrain data of third parties. A complete list of all sources and their licences — split into map data and terrain data — is available under Data Sources. Use of the source data is subject to the respective licence terms of the data providers.

3. Use of the Website

The website alpine-terrain.org is freely accessible. No registration is required. The maps shown are provided for viewing and demonstration purposes.

4. Disclaimer

The maps are provided without warranty as to accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. In particular:

• The maps are for illustration and replace neither an official map nor your own assessment of terrain conditions on site.
• Use in alpine terrain is at your own risk.
• The Operator accepts no liability for any damage arising from use of the maps.
• Terrain models may contain errors, artefacts, or outdated data.
• At national borders, data of different sources and resolutions may overlap; accuracy can vary there.

5. Intellectual Property

The relief maps are an original derivation by the Operator from the open source data of third parties listed in Section 2. Layout, design, and the “alpine^terrain” brand are the property of the Operator.

The map tiles are not made available for free reuse. Redistribution or commercial use of the tiles requires a separate agreement with the Operator.

6. Changes

The Operator reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time. The current version is available on this page.
